Teddies Old and New

Hi - the name's Primo, and I'm the first knitted teddy Chris made, 10-15 years ago.

My little buddy is Boo and she finished him a couple of days ago. He's going off to live with a new baby who's due any time now. We all come from a Woman's Weekly pattern from light years ago - the idea is very simple - the same pattern for all, with changes coming from different size needles and yarn thicknesses. I'm the largest size, and made in a rather handsome boucle wool, whereas Boo is done in double knit, and is the middle size bear.  She also made Celeste, the smallest size, who was very sweet, in white 4ply yarn, and sported a daisy chain around her neck, but she went to a new baby, too, before any pics were taken. Boo has a nifty sweater knitted onto his body.

Chris has posted this over at
http://handmadeharbour.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/handmade-monday-98.html so pop over and see what other new year stuff is going on.

See you around, Primo xx

  1. What sweet little teddies. I like the idea of knitting the jumper onto the body. I bet the recipients are delighted with the teddy.

  2. What a lucky baby to get such a super ted. Love the expressions you have achieved on their faces :)

  3. These look as if they have been bought. They are ideal for new babies due to the lack of things to pull off and look like proper teddies too. Lovely.

  5. Amazing how different the two teddies can look from the same pattern. I like Primo, as there is nothing quite like an old teddy.

  8. That is amazing, the difference the yarn and needles can make. I'm in love with Primo. I sometimes make stuffed animals (out of old sweaters mostly) but they are usually crazy creations out of my head, not beautiful things like your bears. Primo just has the look of someone who should have a story book written about him! He's cuter than Winnie the Pooh! :)
