I cut out the motifs then separated the backing. They were easier to cut with the backing intact. The resulting tissue was surprisingly strong, ok being stuck down with a glue stick, and even coping being lifted a couple of times, for overlapping (just don't lick your fingers to separate them - they crumple!) They are really thin, so they're like painting, with no ridges.
and this is how the whole pieces look
I'm very happy with the results, and will distress (sand) the edges and varnish them.
Now to make some pancake mix for when DH gets home, and then back to my crochet.
I'm putting this over on WOYWW with Julia and the others, so pop over and see what they've been up to.

Wow! With napkins no less! And such pretty napkins at that! And you crochet, too?! Busy lady. When do we eat? I loves pancakes. :) Happy WOYWW! Nan 5
ReplyDeleteSorry Nan - I made one lot of batter that got eaten as soon as DH got home at 4.30pm, and then he made a second lot that went the same way! In our defence, we didn't have anything else to eat - well, not until we went for a curry at 8pm with friends! I should say that we don't usually eat that much in an evening!! LOL x
