Have a great WOYWW Birthday

... and many happy returns!

I haven't got much to show today, as I don't want to spoil the surprise for the people I've sent ATCs to. Getting them done took me to the wire - parcelled up just before bed last night. I can show them tucked up in their 'loo roll inside' wallets, before parcelling. I'm now just waiting for the post office to open.

Instead, I nipped out between the showers, to take some pics of a very wet garden. The slugs, snails and weeds love it! Sorry about the shaky first pic.

This buddleia is a real magnet for bees - it's covered with them, all busy-ing away.

I've just been given 15 newts for the pond - I hope they adapt to their new home.

The couch grass is very happy squeezing in with the geraniums - I'll dig it out at the end of the summer - promise (cough cough)

Well, that's all for now, folks - join me visiting Julia and the other WOYWW blogs on the 5th anniversary of this lovely weekly event (just click button on my side-bar, to find out more). I've laid off the knitting for a while, in the hope that the trapped nerve in my neck eases (this is the fourth time it's happened, each time leaving me with less feeling in my fingers - not good news for crafting - drat!)

Have a great week, Chris xx

  2. Urgh Chris, the trouble with these nerve things is that once you've done it..they learn a tendency to doing it again..awful for you. Beautiful garden shots, my word how abundant a month is May. Pretend there's no such thing as couch grass please, my leg muscles had a rare old ache on em after some weeding on Sunday!
Your ATCs are so nicely finished in their sleeves...I didn't think of 'wrapping' them!

  3. I love that orange globe buddleia - never seen one of those before but I think I might have to get one as I'm passionate about supporting our bees!
Love the wrapping for the ATCs! Happy 5th WOYWW :-)

  5. Great use of loo rolls. Very clever. Very, very clever.

I did my dissertation on musculoskeletal disorders, so that pinched nerve sounds like you need some time for it to heal. And even that may not be enough. I hope you are better soon. Happy, happy 5th Anniversary from #22.

  20. Love the gardens piccies! And you made wallets?! Ooh wow! Excitedly waiting for mine to arrive. Take heart Chrysalis with work, like doing things over n over crafting is possible even with nerve damage. I'm now beading! And have no feeling in the ends of my fingers and no firm grip in either hand. Enjoy your rain we are sadly lacking it down here. Hugs and Happy WOYWW5! Nan G #77 guess I'm now 73 :)

  25. Hi Chris, how clever to use loo roll inners to make your ATC covers! I shall store that one away for future use. The garden looks great - I particularly like that buddleia, not one you see around that much. Wish I had newts in my pond - plenty of frogs though! (But I wish they would eat a few more slugs!) Happy WOYWW5, Cindy

  27. Hi Chirs, Happy 5th WOYWW, isn't it exciting, I've thoroughly enjoyed desk hopping and seeing pics of the crop and the girls one blogs with every week...pity we can't all go. Well you'll probably guess....yes I've been and retrieved the loo roll from yesterday and squashed it very flat in my cuttlebug and whellla my ATC fits (just)...what a brilliant idea and I see others agree. Thanks for visiting my desk and OOOH and I love your garden - I miss mine lots and the flowers are beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pics- cheers me up no end. Have a wonderful week RobynO#35

  28. Chris, the peek at your ATCs is such a tease! They look beautiful!! But, gosh, I have to say they have tough competition with your beautiful yard and flowers! Thank you for sharing your stunning photos!! And thank you for your earlier visit to me! Happy WOYWW 5th Anniversary! 29. I can't wait to see pics of your ATCs Chris! Your gardens are gorgeous!!! I used to LOVE gardening. So sorry to hear about your neck...ugh. I have a severe neck injury from a box falling on my head almost 8 years ago. Can't do nearly as much as I used to. But hey, at least I can still craft a little here and there!

    Happy WOYWW-aversary!

  34. Your garden is lovely - ours looks like an overgrown weed-field, and not even PRETTY weeds LOL! Your ATCs look fab - and the extra effort in the packaging is amazing. I go thru phases where I save loo rolls, thinking I'll use them, and I never do. Well done for following thru LOL!

Happy 5th WOYWW Birthday and thanks for your comment. I'm just taking a little break from boxing up craft stuff. Amazing how much we gather! Even though I've given away so much it hasn't made a dent.

  51. Hi Chris,

What a great idea using the toilet paper rolls and decorating them so nicely! Nice protection for those ATCs. I love your garden. Is the first photo a columbine? That's Colorado's state flower.

Thank you for visiting me already. I can't believe it's already Sunday and I'm just now getting around.

  52. Wow, Chris. What a busy blog post. Those lovely wallets for the ATCs - they are great. I would never have thought of anything like that. The garden pictures are stunning - You must be further South than me, as my hemerocallis are not yet out in full bloom - buds, but no flowers yet. The garden looks lovely - and newts for the pond - brilliant!!
Thanks for visiting. John is indeed home now - we are re-adjusting to life! The skirt looked good, and was worn when collecting him from the hospital.
    Take care.
