WOYWW Kitty Hide and Seek

She might be an old lady (18) but Rosie still has her mischievous side.

Don't see why the humans should have all the fun on Christmas morning! Now you see me, now you don't.

Bet you can't see me now!

Oh, ok - it was me nesting in your hexie project!

No cat in this one - just a new pair of house socks I've begun for DH.

It doesn't seem a week since the last WOYWW (click the button on side bar to find out more). I hope you've all caught your breath after a lovely Christmas.

I've promised myself not to buy more stash this next year, until I use the piles of stuff here already. However, I couldn't resist 5 different balls of sock yarn at House of Fraser at half price. The colour above is not very macho, but I'm making them up for DH. At 6'2" and over 20 stone, no-one ever doubts his masculinity and he couldn't give two hoots what colour they are, anyway!! LOL Neither of us ever use slippers, so house socks are ideal indoor wear.

I'm also gritting my teeth to finish the hexie quilt before starting anything else, so am flitting between that and the socks.

Hoping to visit all the WOYWW desks over the next few days. I did manage to visit everyone last week, but some were very late, I'm afraid.

New Year hugs and blessings, Chris xx

  6. Lol at your cat! They just love hiding underneath anything, don't they? Well done for knitting socks too, too much faff for me though people seem to get addicted to making them!
And I reckon that as long as more old stash gets used then new stuff comes in, then you're into a winner! Good Luck :-)

  12. Wow, 18 makes Rosie a very old lady indeed in cat's years! Bless her still playing to her heart's content. I also made a resolution not to buy anymore stash for at least a few months but I just can't help myself! Life is too short not treat yourself once in a while! Happy New Year, Chris! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #26

  13. Happy New Year - good luck with your resolution, I think we are all the same..... Not exactly sure how old my cat is but at least 16 now..... and still got a nasty torty temper!! I do wonder if she's getting a bit loopier than usual though, she seems to not know what she's doing most of the time and sleeps a lot more. Bit like me. Happy New Year!!

  24. hehhehe great to see Rosie is helping with your projects :o) Love the random pattern that wool creates, I've never tried knitting socks, seems really complicated, you must be very patient! Happy New Year to you and yours :o) Annie C #47

  25. Nice to see Rosie keeping her end up despite her age, Chris! Our 2 kitties were given a bag of goodies for Christmas, including a couple of cat nip toys. They are so lazy, and after a bit of desultory play from Phoebe, Beatrice decided the toys were best for lying on. At this moment I am firmly anchored in place with the 2 of them squashed on my lap - they don't usually like contact with each other so I think it's the cold weather doing it! How can I possibly get up and go and wash my hair??? Really these kitties have no consideration!

Love the projects you are making - beautiful patchwork and fabby socks!

Happy New Year and happy WOYWW,

  26. Aw, good for you, if it's causing teeth gritting, you need to offset it with something that's giving you more pleasure. It's just a phase...as the quilt starts to finish, so you'll love it again!!

  27. Such a cutie cat! I always say my feet don't care what color I wear as long as both sock feel cosy and the same lol. I'm still knitting a hat for a friend. Half off sales are exempt from most stash enhancing limits : ). #41

  28. Happy New Year Chris. Great post with cute kittie photos! I love that sock yarn too.

I am full of cold today (I have been in contact with so many people with bugs - thought I had escaped it until today), and late for reasons explained in my post.

  29. Love Rosie! I remember that our daughter's cat used to play hiding games like that whenever he came visiting. "If I sit on this dining room chair under the edge of the tablecloth, you can't see me; you'll never find me!" His eyes would get so big and black and the tail would swish crazily when we did "find" him. LOL I like the colours in the socks. I'm sure your DH will too. Hope you get the project that's causing consternation done soon so that you can move on to something that you enjoy more. Happy New Year! Nann #62

  30. Hi Chris! Stash resolutions are always such a good idea and feel so good when the pile goes down and then new yarn can be acquired. ;-) The socks will be awesome! The cat is too funny and cute.

  31. Well, no more stash - I cannot stick to that as I got lots of vouchers to spend in my friends shop for Christmas so IU have bought lots already and am in America, the land of plenty. Going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow and then who knows what CHA will reveal.
    Happy New Year
    Hugs, Neet xx

  33. Hello!

I love your photos! My Jimbo also loves to 'hide' under things, especially the warm clothes just out of the drier! I need to get some house socks - never wear shoes in the house and always getting holes in my socks! Wishing you a happy day today!

    Hugs,
